Justo Gil Pardo
Justo Gil Pardo OMI (born October 18, 1910 in Luquin (Navarra) , † November 28, 1936 in Paracuellos de Jarama ) was a Spanish Oblate of the Immaculate Virgin Mary .
Life
After entering the Oblate Order and completing his studies, he was ordained a deacon on June 6, 1936 in Madrid . The monastery in Pozuelo was occupied by armed militias on July 22, 1936 during the Spanish Civil War , and the Oblates were arrested there. Justo Gil Pardo was released a few days later - but only to be arrested again after a few months. He was executed on November 28, 1936, along with twelve of his confreres.
The beatification of the 22 Spanish martyrs of the Oblates, including Justo Gil Pardo, took place on December 17, 2011 in the Cathedral of Madrid .
