The Catholic-Austrian student union Teutonia Innsbruck is a Roman Catholic , colored , non-striking student union in the MKV , which was founded in 1876. It is the oldest connection of this association.
history
The association Teutonia was founded on November 22nd, 1876 by ten students of the Academic Gymnasium Innsbruck , despite the so-called " coalition ban ", and is the oldest secondary school association in Austria. The founders laid down the first motto "In taciturnitate diuturnitas" ( "In secrecy lies the long duration" ) and the first circle, which was replaced in 1877. In this year, the colors green-white-black and the green color were introduced, for this the AV Guestfalia Tübingen served as color godmother. In 1878 the motto "In amicitia fortes et hilares" ( "Strong and happy in friendship" ) was introduced.
On May 16, 1933, the resolution was passed that no Teutone could be a member of the NSDAP . During the time of National Socialism, the underground connection, which was then forbidden, continued to exist.
In the 1960s, Teutonia got its own home in downtown Innsbruck, where it is still based today.
