Kálmán Szepesi

Kálmán Szepesi (born January 13, 1930 in Ózd ; † September 29, 1992 ) was a Hungarian and later Swedish table tennis player . He took part in world championships six times in the 1950s , winning five medals.

Career

Boros won a title six times at the national Hungarian championships: From 1951 to 1954 with the teams of Szot I, Budapest I, Szot II and Budapest Vörös Meteor SK, in 1955 in a mixed with Éva Kóczián and in 1956 in doubles with Elemér Gyetvai .

Kálmán Szepesi competed for Hungary at world championships five times, namely in 1950 , 1951 , 1952 , 1953 and 1955 . He won two titles, in 1952 with the team and in 1955 in mixed with Éva Kóczián . There are also silver medals in 1951 and 1953 and a bronze medal in the team competition in 1955. In the world rankings he was 10th in 1956.

In 1957 Kálmán Szepesi emigrated to Sweden and competed under its flag at the 1957 World Cup . He lived in Stockholm and worked as an insurance broker until his death in 1992.
