Károly Németh (table tennis player)

Károly Németh (born August 31, 1970 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian table tennis player and trainer. He took part in six world championships , three European championships and once in the Olympic Games.

Career

Károly Németh was five times with Budapest clubs Hungarian team champions, namely 1989/90 with Postás SE, 1996/97 and 1999/2000 with Postás-MATÁV SE and 2002/03 and 2003/04 with Budapesti VSC . In the national individual competitions he won four times in singles (1989, 1991, 1997, 2001), five times in doubles (1987 and 1997 with Sándor Varga, 1995 with Zsolt Holló, 1998 and 1999 with Ferenc Pázsy) and once in mixed (1996 with Éva Brown). From 1997 to 1999 he played for the German Bundesliga club TTF Bad Honnef , with whose men's team he twice reached the finals in the ETTU Cup . Later he was active in the Austrian Bundesliga, around 2009/10 at UTTC Oberwart.

From 1987 to 1997 Károly Németh was nominated for all six world championships . Here, however, he never came close to medal ranks. In 1996 he qualified for participation in the individual competition of the Olympic Games . Here he defeated the Austrian Ding Yi and the Australian Paul Langley in the group games , but lost to the South Korean Kim Taek-soo .

In the ITTF world rankings , he reached 64th place.

At the sports university he trained as a qualified trainer and subsequently trained a. a. the national player and European youth champion in doubles 2013 Tamás Lakatos.

Private

Károly Németh is married and has three children.
