Soccer

With the rise of the BVSC football team, which played their home games in the Szőnyi úti stadium, to the first division, the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, in the 1991/92 season, a small golden era began for the club, which culminated in 1996 when the club became runner-up and was allowed to play the two cup finals. In the first game, BVSC won 1-0 against Kispest-Honvéd Budapest , but lost the second leg 2-0.

In the subsequent UEFA Cup campaign, the railroad workers had no luck against Welsh representative Barry Town . Both teams won their home games 3-1 and on penalties the British finally got the upper hand 4-2. The BVSC managed to make it into the final of the national cup competition again, but this time MTK-Hungária clearly demonstrated its national supremacy in that season with 6-0 and 2-0.

Since the MTK became champions at the same time, the BVSC took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup, but were eliminated in the first main round against Betis Sevilla .

At the end of the following season, the BVSC rose again from the first division and was dissolved in 2001, just two years later.
