Mihály Lantos [ ˈmihaːj 'lɒntoʃ ] (born  September 29, 1928 in Budapest , †  December 31, 1989 there ) was a Hungarian football player .

career

Mihály Lantos was a member of the " Golden Elf " ( Hungarian Aranycsapat ), the Hungarian national team, also known as Magical Magyars, which lost 2: 3 to the German selection at the 1954 World Cup in Bern at the Wunder von Bern .

Defender Lantos usually played in the Hungarian defensive line on the left alongside Gyula Lóránt . Since the golden elf represented a modern conception of attack football, Lantos also intervened in the attacks. Lantos played five games during the 1954 World Cup and scored two goals. He was under contract with MTK Budapest and belonged to the club, which changed its name several times between 1950 and 1956, for 13 years.
