Kâzım Koyuncu

Kâzım Koyuncu (born November 7, 1971 in Hopa , Artvin , † June 25, 2005 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish singer of Lasa descent.

Career

In 1992, together with his friends Cafer Isleyen, Gürsoy Tanc , Ugurcan Sezen, Zülfikar Murat Dilek, Mahmut Turan, Metin Kalac, Mehmedali Baris Besli, he founded the first Lasic rock group Zuğaşi Berepe ( Turkish : Denizin Çocukları, German : Children of the Sea). Va Mişkunan (German: We don't know), the band's first album, was released in 1995, followed by İgzas (Gidiyor) in 1998 , which was also the last one.

With the album Viya , the singer began his solo career in 2001. In 2004 he was diagnosed with cancer. Kâzım Koyuncu died on June 25, 2005 and was buried in his home village.

In the film On the Other Side of Fatih Akın , Kâzım Koyuncu is mentioned: while the hit Ben seni sevdiğimi is playing in the background, a petrol station cashier connects Koyuncu's death with a regionally increased cancer rate after the Chernobyl disaster . Koyuncu's music can also be found on the film's soundtrack . The authorship of this piece of music is not guaranteed. It is a traditional Pontic song by an unknown person from the Trabzon (Black Sea) area, from which filmmaker Fatih Akin also comes. One of the oldest performances of this piece is that of Hasan Tunc (1912–1986), by a musician from the village of Matzouka in Trabzon.
