Käthe Reich

Käthe Reich (born December 18, 1872 in Frankfurt am Main , German Reich , † after 1955) was a German stage and film actress .

Live and act

Käthe Reich received her artistic training from Marie Ernst in her hometown of Frankfurt. She made her stage debut in September 1891. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the artist has appeared in sometimes obscure Berlin small theaters such as W. Noack's Theater or Artus-Hof-Theater. Already at a young age Käthe Reich could be seen in classic stage roles such as Queen Elisabeth in Schiller's Maria Stuart , Pompadour in Brachvogel's Narcissus , Hanne in Hauptmann's Fuhrmann Henschel , Nora in Ibsen's Nora or Ein Puppenheim , Marguerite in Dumas' Die Camelliendame and Orsina in Lessing's Emilia Galotti .

For many years there were no permanent engagements in Käthe Reich's vita, and during this time she obviously went on tours with small companies several times. Only at an advanced age did she find employment at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin (towards the end of the Second World War and in the early post-war period) and appeared in small roles in one or the other DEFA film from the first half of the 1950s. After 1955, Käthe Reich's track is lost.

Käthe Reich was married to the actor and director Carl Reich (born April 12, 1874 in Burtscheid / Aachen ).
