Royal Jordanian Institute for Interreligious Studies

The Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies (Engl. The Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies ; abbr. RIIFS ) in Amman , the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan , was founded in 1994 by Prince Hassan ibn Talal founded. Kamal Salibi, from a Christian-Lebanese family, was director of the center from 1994 to 2004. After Michel Hamarneh , Majeda Omar became its new director.

According to its own information, the RIIFS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides a place for interdisciplinary studies of intercultural and interreligious issues with the aim of defusing tensions and promoting peace regionally and globally (“provides a venue for the interdisciplinary study of intercultural and interreligious issues with the aim of defusing tensions and promoting peace, regionally and globally ”).
