The king lobster ( Panulirus regius ) is a species from the lobster family .
The maximum body length of this species of lobster is 35 centimeters. As a rule, however, the representatives of this species reach a body length of 25 centimeters. It can be found in the eastern Atlantic from southern Angola to southern Morocco and is also found in the western Mediterranean . In contrast, it is not represented in the Adriatic .
The king lobster is one of the shallow water species among the lobsters and lives in a sea depth of up to 40 meters. It occurs mainly at depths between 5 and 15 meters and prefers rock bottom.
