The King Knight Game is the introduction to a group of openings in the game of chess . The king knight game is one of the open games and describes the moves (see also: chess notation ):

1. e2 – e4 e7 – e5
2. Ng1-f3

The white king knight on the f3 square threatens the pawn on e5 and controls the d4 square. This supports the striving of the white man to take control of the center . The king knight can later be moved to g5, where in some variants it provides valuable services in the fight for the weak f7-square.

Only in rare cases, however, is a game of chess referred to as a "king knight game" - even if it started that way. Because the following further moves decide which development / main / secondary variant / play arises from it.
