Köping FF
Köpings FF is a Swedish football club from Köping in the Swedish province of Västmanland County . The club is the former football section of Köpings IS , which started a season in second class.
history
Köpings IS emerged from IFK Köping in 1910 . With Karl Gustafsson , who also belonged to the new club, he had provided a national player for the Swedish national team's first international football match in 1908 . Later, with his club mate Hjalmar Lorichs , another player ran for the selection. Meanwhile, the team entered the central Swedish competition Mellansvenska series , which the club finished as champions in 1914. Just three years later, however, he only finished last in the table and was relegated from the series. Two years later, the team returned and played in the back of the table in the following years. When the series was introduced in 1925 as the unofficial second division below the Allsvenskan , the team was one of the founding members. However, they missed the official introduction two years later when they were not among the first four teams to be accepted into the second division. In 1929 they managed to return to the second highest division, after only three victories of the season they occupied a relegation place together with Sundbybergs IK and immediately said goodbye to this level of play. Already two years later, the crash into the fourth division occurred, in the 1960s to 1980s the club played again at times third class.
In 1990, the soccer section of Köpings IS, which at that time competed in the fifth-highest division, made its own business. In the following years the team succeeded in the fourth and fifth division, at times the team just missed the return to the third highest division. In 2005, the club missed relegation in fourth division due to a league reform: in a relegation round, the team finished last behind Vallentuna BK and Älvsjö AIK . In the following years each represented in the promotion battle, it lasted until the 2008 season before they rose again as a season winner in the fourth division before Karlstad BK . After relegated in 2010, the club returns to fifth class.
