Artistic research

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Artistic research (also: art as research ) is a contemporary theory of science that understands artistic procedures as discursive processes that, analogous to the methods of the established sciences, generate knowledge . In doing so, it fundamentally questions the prevailing convictions of the scientific community and contradicts the idea that art and science should be viewed as opposites, but strengthens their similarities, for example the interest in gaining knowledge and increasing knowledge.
