Wilhelm-Hedtmann-Strasse 3

The two-storey residential building at Wilhelm-Hedtmann-Strasse 3 in Wuppertal was built in the middle of the 19th century. In the half-timbered house is on the rear and the front Northwest gable the compartments visible frontage and the southeastern gables are verschiefert , the house is provided with a saddle roof covering.

In the north-western part of the ground floor there was originally a hardware store, which was operated by the owner of the locksmith's shop, which was housed in the outbuildings of the property. The shop was later used for residential purposes.

On November 6, 1989, the house was entered as a monument in the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal.

The Kürten Fontaine

The Kürten Fontaine

The Kürten-Fontaine is located on the southern side of the building on Inselstraße . On this small square there is a replica of a fountain , which was built here in 1725 and supplied the inhabitants of the upper village of Langerfeld with drinking water for over 150 years . The square, which is supposed to commemorate the water supply centuries ago, was established in 1982.

The fontaine is named after Kurt Kürten (1920–1993) the Langerfeld draftsman, poet and founder of the bleacher group.
