Kōji Yamanishi

Kōji Yamanishi ( Japanese 山西 康 司 , Yamanishi Kōji ; born October 11, 1977 in Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing car driver .

Career

Kōji Yamanishi began his career in the Japanese GT Championship and in 1998, as a teammate of Tom Coronel on a Honda NSX from Nakajima Racing, reached second place in the overall standings. Until the end of the 2004 season, the Japanese competed exclusively in races in this racing series, with a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR in 2002 .

He also came to Europe in 2005 as a works driver for the JLOC team, which uses Lamborghini sports cars , and has been driving GT races in both Japan and Europe ever since . Three times - in 2006 , 2007 and 2010 - Yamanishi also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans , but was unable to classify both times.

Yamanishi has also contested four seasons in Formula Nippon so far . In 1997 , 1998 , 1999 and 2001 he drove in this racing series without achieving any great success.
