Kōki Kameda

Kōki Kameda ( Japanese 亀 田 興 毅 , Kameda Kōki ; born November 17, 1986 in Osaka , Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese boxer in half-fly , fly and bantamweight .

His brothers are boxers Tomoki Kameda and Daiki Kameda .

Professional career

On August 2, 2006 he was the light flyweight world champion of the WBA association when he beat Juan Jose Landaeta by split decision. This title was defended in the rematch; he put the title down on January 18, 2007, since he switched to flyweight. In this weight class, he was the end of November 2009 by a points win over Daisuke Naitō WBC World Champion. He lost this title in March of the following year against Pongsaklek Wonjongkam .

On December 26, 2010 he fought against Alexander Muñoz for the vacant WBA world bantamweight title and won unanimously on points. He defended this title eight times in a row and put it down in December 2013 when he switched to super flyweight .
