history

KCSB started as an initiative of a single student with a 5 watt transmitter for his colleagues in the dormitory. At KCSB a number of personalities from politics and society gained radio experience.

The author Mitch Cohen supervised from 1972 together with KC Swartzel a poetry program at KCSB.

One of the most important conservative talk hosts in the United States, Sean Hannity , started his career with KCSB-FM in 1989. He hosted a talk radio show. At that time he was still working as a construction worker and the show was stopped after less than a year because the operators of the station were bothered by Hannity's derogatory remarks to homosexual callers. Although KCSB-FM withdrew Hannity's dismissal, he did not want to return to the station, but went to WVNN Athens, in the US state of Alabama .
