The young musicians gave themselves the stage names El Manu, Gnagg Flow, Trip Tom and Benny von Schaumschlag. El Manu played the electric guitar and Benny, who also wrote most of the lyrics, the drums; Guitarist Gnagg Flow and bassist Trip Tom were also responsible for the vocals. The band made their debut with the self-published album Nutrients in the Brain Make Mood and the EP Leben Leben! in the year 2004.

The album Die Kinder vom Bahnhof SoHo , which was released on The Rocking Ape Records in 2005 , contains hard punk rock pieces as well as two ballads and a song that was recorded with purely acoustic instruments. The lyrics revolve around the hometown of the band Sonthofen. The book Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo by Christiane F. was the inspiration for the title of the album . In one piece, Trip Tom plays the keyboard. Claus Grabke produced the advance single Stadt der Winde .

In 2006, the band was now based in Bochum, the album Engel with colorful tattoos was released with Rocky Bee on guitar alongside Trip Tom and Benny von Schaumschlag.

In summer 2008 the group consisted of the members Bugx on guitar, Trip Tom and Benny von Schaumschlag. You reduced your band name to the abbreviation KIM? and worked with producer Moritz Enders on completing Allez! Allez! Allez! . The album was released on Columbia / Sony Music in August 2009 .
