history

The team was founded in 1995 and was named after a nearby mountain range on the border with Greece . Until the independence of Macedonia, no notable successes are known. Subsequently, teams from Strumica were leading in southeast Macedonia , and in 2007 they also won the first championship in the region. The KK Kožuv only managed to rise to the Prva Liga Macedonia in 2011 , to which he has been a permanent member since then. In the first season, the team from the border town was able to achieve relegation just before their regional rivals ABA Strumica. In the second season, the team moved into the final series of the 2013 championship, in which, however, defending champion MZT Aerodrom from the capital Skopje in four games. In the 2015/16 season even the local competitor KK Best rose to the top division, in which it remained without a win and was immediately relegated.

In the national cup competition it was enough for KK Kožuv 2015 to reach the finals, when they lost record champions KK Rabotnički Skopje . Since the second premier league season in 2012, the team from the border town has also been taking part in the supranational Balkan League , to which they have been a permanent member. After two rather moderately successful participations, they remained undefeated in the 2014/15 preliminary round and managed direct qualification for the semi-finals in the second group phase, in which they were defeated by the eventual title winner KB Sigal Prishtina in addition to the return leg . In the following season of the Balkan League, the team lost to KK Mornar Bar in the 2016 semi-finals .
