KPMG Austria (officially KPMG Austria GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft ) is an international company in the areas of auditing , tax consulting and corporate and management consulting based in Vienna and Linz . The company is a member of the KPMG network of independent member companies affiliated with KPMG International Cooperative (“KPMG International”), a legal entity under Swiss law. KPMG Austria employs around 1,630 people at eight locations ( Bregenz , Graz , Innsbruck , Klagenfurt , Linz, Mödling , Salzburg and Vienna), making it Austria's largest auditing and consulting company.

Company history

KPMG Austria goes back to Alpen-Treuhand, a company founded in 1946, which had worked with Peat Marwick since 1965 and with what was then KMG since 1982. In 1987 the companies merged. In 2006 the areas of auditing and consulting were divided between two legally independent companies.
