The VfB Leimen is a football club from the Palatine glues .
history
The association was founded in 1914 as TV Leimen . In 1945, the TV merged with other Leimen associations to form KuSG Leimen . In 1953 the VfB Leimen was created through the independence of the soccer department of the KuSG. VfB achieved its first major success in 1950 as KuSG Leimen with promotion to the third-class 1st Amateur League North Baden , to which the Leimen-based company initially belonged until 1961.
The footballers achieved their greatest success in 1991, when they were newcomers to the championship of the Baden Association League and were promoted to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga . As penultimate in the table with just 22:46 points and 28:65 goals, the club was relegated from the top soccer class in Baden-Württemberg after the first season.
VfB Leimen has been playing in the eight-class Heidelberg district league since the 2007/08 season. In the 2014/15 and 2018/19 seasons, as runner-up, promotion to the Rhein-Neckar regional league was missed in the relegation. In the 2019/2020 season, VFB Leimen was second in the table after the Corona-related end of the season and continues to play in the Heidelberg district league.
