The Kabang Ri is located in the Tibetan part of the Langtang Himal in the Himalayas .

The 6717  m high glaciated mountain is located in Gyirong County of the district-free city of Xigazê . The Kabang Ri is 49 km northwest of Shishapangma . The Kabang Ri is located in the catchment area of the Kyirong Tsangpo (upper reaches of the Trishuli in Tibet). The Nyalbagletscher flows west on its southern flank .
