Šarec cabinet
The Šarec cabinet was the Slovenian government from September 13, 2018 to 2020.
history
It was elected with a clear majority in August 2018 and is based on a broad center-left coalition in the highly fragmented Državni zbor . The liberal parties LMŠ , SMC and SAB , the retired party DeSUS and the social democratic SD are involved in the coalition . Furthermore, arrangements are made for a tolerance by the left L .
The chairman of the government is Marjan Šarec (LMŠ). At the age of 40, he is the youngest head of government in Slovenia since independence in 1991. With Miro Cerar (SMC, exterior) and Alenka Bratušek (SAB, infrastructure), the government also has two previous heads of government.
The coalition is interpreted as a counterweight to the populist SDS Janez Janšas , the largest parliamentary party, and viewed as not very stable. In terms of content, it has largely been agreed to continue the work of the previous Cerar government .
In January 2020, Prime Minister Marjan Šarec announced his resignation, the government remained in office. In March 2020, the cabinet was replaced by the Janša III cabinet .
