action

The young officials Kōjirō Shindō ( 真 道 幸 路 朗 ) and Shun Hanamori ( 花 森 瞬 ) work as negotiators for the Japanese Foreign Ministry. Shindo is famous for his negotiating skills, Hanamori mostly his companion and colleague. When they take a business flight, a semi-transparent cube appears in the sky over Tokyo, which rapidly enlarges and lands on the airfield - on their machine, which is now inside the mysterious cube. While the government, the military and scientists try to find out what the two-by-two-kilometer cube is all about, Shindō inside makes contact with its owner: Yaha-kui zaShunina ( ヤ ハ ク ィ ザ シ ュ ニ ナ , Yahakwi Zashunina ) from another Dimension.

Soon afterwards, Yaha-kui zaShunina and Shindo step out of the cube together. zaShunina wants to enter into negotiations with the government and Shindo should help him mediate. Because despite its modern technology, communication is not that easy for visitors from a completely strange world. The other passengers and crew of the aircraft have to wait even longer for their return from the aircraft, as it takes Kado - as the cube is called - a month to get them all back into a state in which they can safely leave it. In the meantime, negotiations begin, which are being held in public with a delegation from the Japanese government and parliament in front of Kado on the airfield. The negotiator Saraka Tsukai ( 徭 沙羅 花 ) leads this for the government. Yaha-kui zaShunina, who says he comes from the " anisotropic ", offers mankind an inexhaustible source of energy called wam.

Initially, only Japan receives Wam and the other nations are calling on Japan to hand over the energy source to the United Nations and threatening sanctions. But Yaha-kui zaShunina wants all of humanity to benefit from it and not just a few large states. Finally, with the help of the ingenious and childlike scientist Kanata Shinawa ( 品 輪 彼方 ), the production of wam is deciphered and the prime minister decides to show it to the whole world. Wam is created by shaping six spheres into one another so that it comes into contact with the anisotropic and can draw energy from it. Little by little, more and more people are mastering the production of wam, which is spreading so quickly. The media entrepreneur Adam Ward wants to elicit further secrets from zaShunina and sends journalists to him. These are let into Kado and zaShunina shows them his next gift: Sansa. Just seeing this gives man an understanding of the anisotropic. For example, he is no longer able to sleep because parts of his body in other dimensions can do this for him. Shindo was the first to experience this because he has been exposed to the anisotropic for so long. Now that Sansa is spread through the media, more and more people are gaining this ability.

However, Shindo is also increasingly concerned about how this rapid development will affect humanity. He is strengthened by Saraka Tsukai, who wants zaShunina to leave the earth because his gifts interfere with natural development. When Shindo wants to talk to zaShunina about it, he is shown another gift: Nanomis-hein. It allows control over the physics of the environment. Immediately afterwards Shindō is led into the anisotropic itself, where zaShunina reveals to him that it was the anisotropic beings themselves who created the universe. They are always looking for new information to process, creating a number of physical systems in the process. Our universe and mankind developed from one of the experiments and, as the first of these experiments, produced an ever increasing amount of information. Therefore, zaShunina wants to take mankind into the anisotropic, which he slowly wants to get used to with his visit. Shindo is horrified and distraught. Since he is no longer a helpful ally, zaShunina wants to kill him and replace him with a copy. Then he comes across Tsukai, who is herself an anisotropic being who entered the universe a long time ago and learned to love humanity. You manage to escape from zaShunina together with Shindo.

While zaShunina pursues his plan and brings Nanomis-hein among the people, Shindō and Tsukai secretly prepare their counterattack. To do this, they bring Hanamori and Shinawa over to them and make armor for Shindō to withstand zaShunina's forces and to convince or surprise him in negotiations. Shindo is certain that zaShunina is not hostile to humanity, but is only thirsty for information. So he wants to satisfy this need with a real surprise. Eventually it comes to a fight, which Shindo loses despite the armor and dies. zaShunina regrets his death because he found a friend in him. Suddenly a girl appears who turns out to be the 16-year-old daughter of Shindo and Tsukai. She was raised by Hanamori in a room with a different time course and is clearly superior as a descendant of a human and an anisotropic zaShunina. She can defeat him, who is now actually stunned by Shindo's plan. After zaShunina's disappearance, all of his gifts also lose their abilities. But since mankind now knows about them, it wants to explore them on its own.
