KaiOS is a Firefox OS- based operating system for feature phones developed by Kai OS Technologies (Hong Kong) Limited.
The main features of KaiOS are the support of 4G , NFC , GPS and WLAN with HTML5 -based applications and a longer battery life on non-touch devices with an optimized user interface, less memory and energy consumption. There are also over-the-air updates . A separate app store called KaiStore enables applications to be downloaded. Some services are pre-installed as HTML5 applications, including Twitter , Facebook and YouTube . Telegram can also be used via the browser . Thanks to an update, WhatsApp no longer only runs on devices from the Indian market, but also in Europe and can be easily downloaded from the KaiStore. Alternative browsers can now be used, but Java applications are not yet available. KaiOS is very resource-saving and can be operated on devices with only 256 MB RAM. The software can be adapted by the respective device manufacturer.
