Susanne Gillmayr-Bucher (* 1962 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian and university professor .

Life

After graduating from the federal upper secondary school in Telfs in 1980, she studied combined religious education and German studies at the University of Innsbruck from 1980 to 1985 . After graduating in 1985 with a Magistra in Theology, she studied independent religious education from 1985 to 1989. After completing her studies in Independent Religious Education (with distinction) in 1989, she gave Catholic religious instruction at the free Waldorf School in Innsbruck from 1989 to 1992. From 1992 to 2000 she was contract assistant at the Institute for Old Testament Biblical Studies at the University of Innsbruck. After completing her doctorate in 1994 with the dissertation A text-linguistic study on Gen 24 for a doctorate in theology (with distinction), she was a research assistant at the Chair for Old Testament at the Theological Faculty in Erfurt from 2000 to 2002 . From 1998 to 2000 she was a guest at the graduate school The Bible - Its Origin and Effect at the University of Tübingen . After completing her habilitation in 2002 at the KU Linz and receiving the venia docendi for the field of biblical studies of the Old Testament, she had teaching assignments at the Erfurt Theological Faculty in the winter semester 2002/2003 and teaching assignments at the Catholic-Theological University Linz and the RWTH Aachen . From 2004 to 2010 she taught as a professor for biblical theology at RWTH Aachen University. Since October 2010 she has been teaching as professor for Old Testament biblical studies at the Catholic Private University in Linz.
