Kai Boeckmann

Kai Boeckmann (* 1964 ) is a German diplomat . He is the German ambassador in Bahrain .

Life

Kai Boeckmann studied law at the University of Passau , where he passed his first state examination in 1991. Before that, in 1988, he had a degree in Legal Studies from King's College London . After a legal traineeship in Hamburg and a 2nd state examination in law, he joined the Foreign Service in 1994 .

Kai Boeckmann is married and has one son.

Diplomatic career

He had foreign assignments in Jericho (as deputy head of the German representation), Buenos Aires (with the rank of consul ), Rome (responsible for the press) and Cairo . At the German embassy in Cairo he was deputy head of mission. Until August 2018, Kai Boeckmann was head of the personnel payments department in the Federal Foreign Office.

As the successor to the ambassador Alfred Simms-Protz and the interim manager Martin Lötzer, Kai Boeckmann has been the German ambassador in Manama since 2018 .
