Kai Huckenbeck (born February 23, 1993 in Wuppertal ) is a German speedway driver and two-time German speedway individual champion.

Career

In 2002, Huckenbeck drove a 50 cc machine in the school class, won the German and Dutch championships in the 125 cc class in 2004 at the age of 11 and a 500 cc speedway machine in 2007 under the J license. He took part in the qualifying rounds for the U-21 Speedway World Championship (individual & team), the U-19 European Championship and the U-19 European Team Championship.

Huckenbeck's greatest success so far is the victory at the German Speedway Individual Championship on August 31, 2013 in Berghaupten . He also won the German speedway individual runner-up in 2011 in Güstrow and the U21 speedway championship in 2011. He competed in the Speedway Bundesliga until 2013 for Güstrow, Wolfslake , Diedenbergen and Wittstock . For 2014 he signed a contract in the second Polish division with Opole / Opole , together with his compatriots Christian Hefenbrock and Steven Mauer .

In 2016/2017, Huckenbeck made the breakthrough on an international level. In addition to the German and English league commitments, he made it to the Polish Ekstraliga and signed a 2-year contract with GKM Grudziądz in 2017 . In 2016 he drove to 3rd place at the Speedway European Championship run in Güstrow , almost repeated this performance in 2017 and took 5th place. He received the organizer Wild Card for the Speedway Grand Prix Teterow 2017 and finished as the best German in the Speedway Grand Prix Challenge in 9th place and just missed a reserve place for the World Championship.
