Kai Luibrand (born April 24, 1994 in Biberach an der Riss ) is a German soccer player who is currently under contract with FV Illertissen .

Career

Luibrand began his career in the youth of SSV Ulm in 1846 . There he went through the youth teams up to U-19, but could not recommend himself for the first team in 2013 and moved to TSV Reichenbach in the Association League North Baden . After a year-long engagement with Kickers Pforzheim , he switched to the second team at Karlsruher SC , where he soon became a regular player. In the 3-0 defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg on October 16, 2016, the center forward was in the squad of the second division team for the first time, but was not used. In the 0-0 draw against Dynamo Dresden on December 9, 2016, the 16th matchday of the 2016/17 season, Luibrand made his first appearance for the professional team in the 2nd Bundesliga when he played for Moritz Stoppelkamp in the 90th minute was substituted on. He had his first starting eleven on May 21, 2017, the 34th matchday of this season, in the 1: 2 away defeat against Eintracht Braunschweig . After the relegation of Karlsruhe to the 3rd division at the end of the season, he was a permanent member of the professional squad. But even in the third division he could not establish himself in the team and only came to four short appearances.

At the end of the season he moved back to his youth club SSV Ulm 1846 . There, too, he only made two short appearances in the league and two other appearances in the first two rounds of the WFV Cup , so that he joined FV Illertissen for the 2019/20 season.
