The Roman Catholic Kaiser Franz Joseph Jubilee Chapel is located near the Kaiserbuche on the ridge of the Haunsberg in the market town of Obertrum am See in the Salzburg-Umgebung district in the state of Salzburg .

description

The plastered chapel building has a small retracted apse with a triangular closure. Above the arched portal door, the gable roof carries a roof turret. The arched windows have a wooden tracery. The interior of the chapel has a flat barrel vault. The neo-Gothic Wimpergaltar bears a figure of St. Maria.

On October 28, 1779, Emperor Joseph II was shown the beautiful view during an unofficial visit to an unwooded spot on the ridge of the Haunsberg . In memory, a red beech was planted at this point and called the imperial beech. A brick memorial pyramid was also built nearby in 1779 and was last renewed in 1957. Subsequently, a chapel was built in 1898 for the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I and restored in 1968.
