Kaiser Ludwig column in Fürstenfeldbruck

The Kaiser Ludwig column on the eastern outskirts of Puch , a district of Fürstenfeldbruck in the Upper Bavarian district of Fürstenfeldbruck , was built in 1808. The monument to Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian , who died near Puch in 1347, is a protected architectural monument .

The obelisk made of white Ettal marble on a high pedestal with an inscription was created in 1796/97 by Roman Anton Boos (1730–1810) and erected in 1808.

The monument consists of three square stone blocks standing on top of one another, rising higher and higher, on which the obelisk stands. This bears the portrait of the emperor created by Roman Anton Boos on the front and a Latin inscription on the pad underneath, the translation of which reads: “The pious memory of Ludwig the Bavarian, Roman emperor, defender of German unity and giver of Bavarian land law, the strong and persistent man, put the monument to Maximilian, King of Bavaria, 1808 ”.

On the back is the imperial double-headed eagle with the Bavarian diamonds in the heart shield and underneath the inscription: "Here died in the arms of a farmer from a surprise death on October 11, 1347 Ludwig der Baier Roman Emperor".

From the surrounding park of the court garden manager Friedrich Ludwig Sckell only trees and bushes and the small fountain, which was built in 1811/12, remained.
