The Kaiserbrunnen at the Mainzer Tor in Kaiserslautern was created by the Kaiserslautern sculptor Gernot Rumpf . The round fountain made of bronze and sandstone with a diameter of 12 m and a height of 5 m has been in operation since 1987 and symbolically represents the most important historical and current features of the city of Kaiserslautern.

The busts of Friedrich Barbarossa and Rudolf von Habsburg tower above the fountain and can be seen from afar. Also the Napoleon hat , the city ​​seal and an emigrant ship .
