Kelārdascht ( Persian کلاردشت Kalārdascht , or Kelardasht ) is a valley in the Elburs Mountains in the province of Māzandarān in northern Iran . It is located in the Chalus district, 30 km south of Abbās-Ābād and west of Marzān-Ābād . There are 30 villages in the valley.

In the center of the Kelārdascht valley is the city of the same name with a population of 5131 in 1996. The city consists of five districts, with Hasan-Kīf being the shopping and administrative center.

In recent years, the original agricultural land has been sold as building land to townspeople, mainly from Tehran, but also from other parts of the country, and villas have been built on it. The summer visitors who appear annually try to escape the heat here. Visitors from the neighboring Arab countries on the Persian Gulf also stay in the valley during the summer. It is above all the beauty of nature and the cool climate that draw you here. The area around Rūdbarak is also suitable for climbing and is a popular destination for ecotourism .

In the Kelārdashht area one finds enclaves of Kurmanji- speaking Kurds , often Darwish - as well as enclaves of Gilakern . A well-known product from this area is the Kelārdash carpet .

Artifacts from the Neolithic were found in the archaeological site of Kelār-Tappeh (Kelār Hill) . Achaemenid and Sassanid gold and silver finds from Kelārdasht are exhibited in the Iranian National Museum in Tehran.
