Kalamos (Attica) ( Greek Κάλαμος Αττικής ) is a city about 45 km north of Athens. It belongs to the Attica region , the capital of which is Athens . Kalamos received the status of a rural community (kinotita) in 1912 . In 1920 the coastal settlement of Agii Apostoli was recognized as part of the municipality. In 2006 the municipality of Kalamos was upgraded to a municipality (dimos).
On January 1, Kalamos was incorporated into the municipality of Oropos , in which it forms a municipality and at the same time a locality, i.e. elects a local representative within the municipality.
The village of Kalamos today consists of the settlements Kalamos with almost 1792 inhabitants, which is about two kilometers from the coast of the southern Gulf of Euboea , and the port city of Agii Apostoli (Greek Άγιοι Απόστολοι), which is about five kilometers east of Kalamos directly on Sea and 1936 people.

In Kalamos there is room for up to 7000 tourists in hotels, inns and guest houses. Due to its location, Kalamos is a good starting point for other activities. The sea can be reached in a few minutes by car, the capital Athens is about an hour's drive away and can also be reached via various bus connections.
