Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe quadrangularis is a presumably annual plant that reaches heights of growth of up to 30 centimeters or more. Its simple, petalled shoots are slender. Nothing is known about the leaves .

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence is a spherical, bald cymes with a diameter of 4 to 8 centimeters. There is no inflorescence stalk . The bare flowers, which are oriented in different directions, stand on 4 to 6 millimeter long, pedicled flower stalks . Your purple calyx tube is 0.2 to 0.3 millimeters long. The lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate calyx tips are 9 to 10 millimeters long and 3 to 4 millimeters wide. Its tip is wedge-shaped and pointed. The tubular, square, purple-colored corolla is often greenish or whitish towards the base. The corolla tube, which is square in cross section and slightly enlarged at its base, is 17 to 20 millimeters long. Their lanceolate to obovate-lanceolate corolla lobes are blunt and have an attached tip. They have a length of 7 to 8 millimeters and are 4 to 5.5 millimeters wide. The elongated anthers are 1.2 to 1.5 millimeters long. The linear, blunt nectar flakes are 3.5 to 4 millimeters long. The elongated carpel has a length of 5 to 6 millimeters. The first description by Bernard M. Descoings was published in 1997. The species is only known from one herbarium specimen without leaves.
