Kalidou Janik Diouf (born August 31, 1994 in Heidelberg ) is a German basketball player of Senegalese descent.
career
Diouf was born in Heidelberg to a German mother and a father from Senegal . He speaks German, French, English and Wolof . Diouf played in the youth of USC Heidelberg and went to basketball boarding school at the Urspring School in 2009 . With the U19 team he was German champion in 2010, 2011 and 2013. In 2012 Diouf won the “Arby's Classic”, a traditional tournament in the US state of Tennessee, with the Urspring selection . In the 2011/12 season he made his debut for the men's team Ehingen / Ursprings in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA .
In 2013 he went to the United States to study at the University of Alaska Anchorage . He sat out in the 2013/14 season. In 2014/15 Diouf was in 31 missions in the second division of the NCAA in the category rebounds per game (5.3) most successful and in points per game (10.4) fourth best player of his university team.
For the 2015/16 season he left Alaska for California and continued his studies (major: journalism ) and basketball career at California Baptist University (also NCAA 2). After returning to Germany, he signed a contract with White Wings Hanau ( 2nd Bundesliga ProA ) in summer 2018 . He was used in 26 ProA games in the 2018/19 season and scored an average of 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, but missed relegation with the team. Diouf stayed in the second division by joining the Rostock Seawolves during the 2019 summer break . In the Hanseatic League he averaged 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per use. At the end of June 2020 he was announced by league competitor Gladiators Trier as a new addition.
National team
Diouf played for the German junior national team from the age group U16. In 2012 he took part in the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the U18 national team.
