Kalin Terziyski ( Bulgarian Калин Терзийски ; born March 22, 1970 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian writer.

Life

Kalin Terziyski studied medicine with a specialization in psychiatry ( Sofia Medical University ). Due to the high workload and comparatively low pay of the prospective doctors, he also wrote for newspapers and magazines. Since 2000 he has devoted himself entirely to writing.

In 2011 he was awarded the 2011 European Union Literature Prize for his short stories.

In his novel Alcohol (together with Dejana Dragoeva) Terziyski processes experiences from his private and professional life. The work was the best-selling fiction title in Bulgaria in 2010.

His writing is influenced by writers such as Fyodor Dostoyevsky , Nikolai Gogol , Walt Whitman , Edgar Allan Poe and others. a.
