Kalju Saaber

Kalju Saaber (born October 11, 1944 on the Kalmu farm, Inju-Aruvälja village, today Vinni rural community , Estonia ) is an Estonian writer .

Life

Kalju Saaber attended schools in Paide and Rakvere . He then worked in a forestry combine in Rakvere. He graduated from Rakvere Junior Worker Middle School in 1963.

From 1964 to 1967 Saaber studied history at the State University of Tartu . Because of a serious illness, he was unable to graduate from university.

Saaber has been a freelance writer since 1968. He has published numerous short stories and novels. In 1979 he joined the Estonian Writers' Union.

Saaber lives in Rakvere. In addition to his writing activities, he deals intensively with the local history of his home region of Virumaa .
