Kalol is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat . It forms a suburb of Ahmedabad .
The city is the capital of the Gandhinagar district . Kalol has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 9 wards (constituencies).

Kalol has a monsoon climate with three main seasons: summer, monsoon season and winter. The climate is generally dry and hot outside of the monsoon season. The record temperature was 48.8 degrees and was reached in 2016.
Demographics
The city's population is 134,426 according to the 2011 census. Kalol has a gender ratio of 891 women per 1000 men and thus a male surplus typical for India. The literacy rate was 87.6% in 2011.
