River course

The headwaters of the Kamanatsuk Brook forms a 570  m high lake system, 30 km east of the provincial border with Québec . The Kamanatsuk Brook initially flows 7 km south and then turns east-northeast. At river kilometers 46.7 and 40.3 there is a waterfall on the course of the river, 4.6 and 1.5 m high. From river kilometer 40 the Kamanatsuk River flows almost dead straight in an easterly direction. The Fraser River runs approximately parallel 11.5 km further south. Between the river kilometers 25.3 and 15.5 the Kamanatsuk Brook flows through the almost 10 km long, 11.1 km² large and 40  m high elongated Tasialuk Lake . 4.8 km above the mouth there is a 6.1 m high waterfall, which is an insurmountable obstacle for migratory fish . The Kamanatsuk Brook finally empties into the head end of Tikkoatokak Bay , about 800 m southwest of the mouth of the Kotannak Brook . The village of Nain is located 55 km east-southeast of the river mouth . The catchment area of the Kamanatsuk Brook covers 829 km².
