The Hagebach , sometimes also known as Kleine Bode , is a right tributary of the Bode in the Thuringian district of Eichsfeld .

course

The river rises south of the settlement Neubleicherode on Ohmgebirge . It flows first in an easterly direction , from the mouth of the Tonbach in a north and later in a northeasterly direction. The first town on the stream is Neustadt . Then the Hagebach takes up the Knickbach and flows through large ground, where it is also called flowing water . On the country road in the direction of Kleinbodungen , he finally reaches the Bode.

In Neustadt, the Hagebach and the Knickbach formed part of the medieval village fortifications with ramparts and moats.

Mills

The following mills were operated on Hagebach, none of which are still in operation or have already been demolished:

  • in large floors the small mill and the brand or upper mill
  • in Neustadt the Solf or Untermühle and the Seeth or Obermühle
  • at the Tonbach the Unter-, Mittel- and Obermühle
