biography

Kambaksh was the youngest son of Mughal Aurangzeb Alamgir with his concubine. In February 1707, shortly before his death, Aurangzeb decided, fearing wars for the throne, to send Muhammad Azam Shah to Malwa and his stepbrother Kambaksh to Bijapur . A few days later he died and Azam Shah, who had not followed Aurangzeb's instructions, declared himself ruler of the Mughal Empire. Kambaksh, on the other hand, captured Bijapur as ordered by Aurangzeb. In June 1707, however, Azam Shah and his son were born near Agra by his other stepbrother Qutb ud-Din Muhammad Mu'azzam , who later became Mughal Mughal Bahadur Shah Idefeated and killed in battle. Kambaksh now also lay claim to the throne. In the civil war that followed, the battle of Hyderabad took place on January 13, 1709 . Kambaksh lost and was fatally wounded. He died the next day in Hyderabad and was buried in Delhi.
