Kamil Bednář
Kamil Bednář (born July 4, 1912 in Prague , † May 23, 1972 in Mělník ; pseudonym Prokop Kouba ) was a Czech poet and translator, prose writer, playwright and publishing editor.
Life
After graduating from high school in 1931 and taking the first state examination at the Faculty of Law of Charles University , he studied for another six years at the Faculty of Philosophy.After completing his studies in 1939 and closing all schools, he worked at the Melantrich publishing house , and from 1949 at the Československý spisovatel publishing house ( Czechoslovak Writer Publishing House). From 1959 he devoted himself only to literature.
He was the founder of the group (Field Mustard) and Pevný bod (Fixed Point) as well as the author of poems, prose, essays, fairy tales and numerous translations from different languages.
