The Chamber of Tax Consultants and Auditors ( KSW ) is the legal representation of the interests of tax consultants and auditors in Austria . Until December 31, 2017 the name was "Chamber of Public Accountants". The renaming is in connection with the Public Accountants Act 2017.

Agendas

The chamber is the professional organization of all professions as a liberal profession the profession right under the Public Accounting Profession Act subject (WTBG). KSW represents 7,000 tax consultants, 2,300 of whom are also certified auditors and 2,500 are trainees. Taking account of the tax advisory companies, the number of chamber members is 9,800.

As a representation of interests, she carries out the necessary professional training (Academy of Public Accountants) and the assessment of laws.

In addition to representing interests, she has the task of carrying out the examinations for obtaining the professional permit and various administrative procedures that affect the profession. These are tasks that the Chamber carries out as an authority in the assigned sphere of activity, in particular the control of compliance with professional obligations, as strictly regulated for professions in the public interest.
She also represents the Austrian industry internationally. There is also close cooperation with the Institute of Austrian Auditors .

KSW also awards the so-called Austrian seal of approval for donations , which NPO organizations receive on request in order to prove the lawful use of donations .

organization

The main organ is the Chamber Day, in which 66 representatives are elected. The governing body is the executive board with 11 members, who appoints the chamber presidium (president and vice-presidents) by secret ballot. KSW is currently (as of Oct. 2019) headed by Klaus Hübner as President and Gerald Klement as Chamber Director, Jakob Schmalzl, Franz X. Priester, Herbert Houf, Thomas Kölblinger and Philipp Rath are the Vice Presidents. Technical work such as legal assessment takes place in specialist panels.

history

The professional association was founded as early as 1904, at the time of the monarchy, as a body of book experts . In 1920 all accountants' associations joined the Austrian National Association of Book Auditors . After connecting exposed, after the war, the Provisional Chamber of Auditors , and 1947 with the Public Accountants Act chamber founded the organization in its present role.
