Kamouraska is a municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec and part of the county town of Kamouraska . The name is derived from the Algonquin languages and means "where rushes grow at the water's edge". The community with around 700 inhabitants and 40.81 km² was first settled in 1692. The first church was built in 1709. Highway 132 runs through Kamouraska .
Kamouraska was voted one of the 20 Most Beautiful Villages in Québec Province.
