The Kanaren Express (also KanarenExpress ) was a newspaper in the Canary Islands that was discontinued in October 2017. Tina Straub, Joe Schacher and Henry Cruz published them.

history

The newspaper appeared as the Tenerife Express on October 1, 2006 with issue 0 for the first time. At the beginning of 2008 it changed its title to Kanaren Express and also contained a television program from German-speaking television stations in Canarian local time as an insert. On October 20, 2017, the editors announced the end of both the printed weekly edition and the online version. The reason given was differences between the editors in terms of content orientation.

The Canaries Express appeared every 14 days and was sold on the islands of Tenerife , Gran Canaria , Fuerteventura , Lanzarote , La Gomera , La Palma and El Hierro . In addition, printed copies were available free of charge primarily in hotels and restaurants on Tenerife. In terms of content, she provided German-speaking residents and (mainly long-term) vacationers with local news about daily life and current events on the Canary Islands.

The Kanaren Express was part of the Island Connections Media Group, which also includes the English-language newspaper "Island Connections", which has been published every fortnight since 1983, and the monthly English-language magazine "The Magazine".
