Kangikajik [ kaˈŋikai (k) ] (according to the old spelling Kangikajik ) is a deserted, fallen Greenlandic settlement in the district of Ittoqqortoormiit in the communeqarfik Sermersooq .
location
Kangikajik is the only settlement in the district that is not north of Kangertittivaq , but south of it. Kangikajik is located directly on a large river delta near the cape that forms the south bank of the mouth of the Kangertittivaq. Ittoqqortoormiit is on the other side of the fjord 41 km north.
history
Kangikajik was settled in 1944. In 1951 seven of the residents were educated children. As early as 1956, the 23 residents resident at the time left the place and gave it up.
