Edge
Edge (in the 17th century with the meaning "edge, corner" from Lower Germany, from Gallic Latin canthus "iron wheel tire, wheel rim ") denotes:
- generally a line in which two surfaces meet
- in everyday life furniture edges , house corners, drip edges, etc.
- in the topography lines, where the slope of the terrain changes significantly, see terrain level
- an edge or fold on textiles, e.g. B. the selvedge , a trim or the fabric break
