The canton of Lindau was an administrative unit in the Osterode district of the Harz department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia .

The main place of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the place Lindau in today's Lower Saxony district Northeim . The canton consisted of the 5 places, Lindau was the only place in the lower area , which was attached to the Osterode district and not to the southern neighboring district of Duderstadt . Canton maire was a Mr. Heddenhausen (1811), other employees of the canton were a Mr. miller Fischer, Pastor Leibecke and Kantonmaire (1815?) Treu.
