The canton school Schüpfheim is a public school of the canton Lucerne in Schüpfheim ( Switzerland ).

A short-term high school is offered at the Schüpfheim Cantonal School . A distinction is made between a four-year and a five-year course. The four-year course corresponds to a classic timetable. The course, which has been expanded by one year, enables talented people to be promoted. The talent area focuses on the areas of sport, music, artistic design, language and acting. Both courses lead to the Matura.

The canton school Schüpfheim offers Latin, biology and chemistry, economics and law, artistic design and music as main subjects.

history

The Schüpfheim Cantonal School was founded in 1960 as the Schüpfheim Middle School.

The founding was preceded by a resolution by the Grand Council of the Canton of Lucerne to open a middle school in the Entlebuch office. The decision was based on a motion by the then Escholzmatter Grand Councilor Hans Stadelmann . In April 1960 the preliminary course started in the village school building. The school opened in September 1960. The schoolhouse on Lädergass in Schüpfheim by architect Werner Jaray was inaugurated in July 1963. In 1972, the canton of Lucerne bought the building constructed by the building owner, the community of Schüpfheim.

In 2000, the Lucerne government council decided to expand the Schüpfheim canton school into a high school as a short-term grammar school. Previously, the pupils had to spend the last few years outside of the Schüpfheim site until they obtained their Matura.

In 2004 the first high school graduates graduated from the Schüpfheim Cantonal School.

In 2010 the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
